Weekly Updates

Wednesday Blue Plate
A reminder to everyone that we’ll be closed Wednesday evening for a private party, but we’ll return next week with a stellar fall Blue Plate Special! Come see us Thursday night for a burger!

Thursday $9 Craft Cocktail & Happy Hour Specials
Thursdays, our Happy Hours continue!
Join us from 5-7 pm on Thursday evenings at the bar for some cocktail specials:
—$2 off wines by the glass
—$1 off beers by the bottle
—$9 This week’s cocktail will be a plumcot cosmo. And our burger will be…wait for it…an 8 oz. patty from Misty Mountain Farm, topped with roasted Carmen peppers, gorgonzola and parmesan aioli, and served with french-fried carola potatoes from Beech Grove Farm and Liz’s pickles…

Friday Specials

Farm-raised local duck will be returning to the Herdic kitchens this week, just in time for autumn, though it may not feature on our menu for a few weeks yet. But here’s the trick: this week we’re hosting a number of parties celebrating several different occasions, and we’re hesitant to put together a menu of features with so many special events going on. (This is a good problem to have!) If you’re hungry for duck, it’ll be in our features, we’re certain, but call down to see what preparation is in the offing. It’s a month of transitions, and a week of rapid set changes here at the Herdic, but we’re delighted to be welcoming fall (and ducks) to our repertoire…

Upcoming Events

Nella Godbey Storm Artwork | First Friday, October 6
In a show entitled “Environmental Landscapes”, the fabulously colorful Nella Godbey Storm will be displaying her latest oil landscapes. Air, water and earth are portrayed in a series of paintings on acid-free paper in a style that has been compared to impressionism and expressionism, and Godbey Storm’s en plein air dynamic landscapes catch those fleeting moments of sunrise and sunset, of full moons, and billowing clouds. Her sense of color is indeed exquisite, and well worth a stop to see her work and chat with the artist herself on October 6. We’ll see you here!

Oktoberfest at the Herdic House | Friday, October 13
Is it Oktoberfest time again already? Yes indeed! Join us for beer, cider, and all our favorite German dishes, as celebrate the harvest season in lederhosen and dirndls, with as much Oompa music as we all can handle. And we’re also hoping to be hosting the incredible Nella Godby Storm for October’s First Friday, but one of our favorite artists and luddites has been incommunicado all summer while she spends time in Canada. Stay tuned for an update!

Prime Rib Night | Friday, October 27
Join us for some melt-in-your-mouth, delectably marbled antibiotic-free prime rib, rubbed with garlic and peppercorns and served beside roasted potatoes and buttered broccoli. Simple, hearty and plain old wonderful. But, much like our lobsters, please call in to make a reservation and pre-order! A limited number of roasted then grilled beef ribs will also be available—but you may have to wrestle Jim for them…

The Herdic House Turns 39 | Friday, November 10
Save the date! The Herdic House is turning 39, and we’re planning a fete to celebrate…

Saturday afternoon’s Victorian tea | Saturday, November 18
It’s that most wonderful time of the year again—or nearly! Join us as we work together with the lovely volunteers of Victorian Christmas to create a captivating weekend of house tours, church tours, vintage model trains and general Christmas Victoriana to kick off the holiday season…and, of course, as usual, we’ll host Saturday afternoon’s Victorian tea, with seatings at 2:00, 2:30 and 3:00. Check out the weekend plans at victorianchristmaspa.com!

Amazing Service and Atmosphere
“We had family Christmas gathering and we were able to have the whole house to ourselves. The food was so good, the service was great, and the decorations/ambiance was perfect for Christmas. It’s a beautiful old Victorian house and it was decorated so beautifully. We will definitely be going back here again. Every detail was attended to.”

A Gem!
“Williamsport lacks “big city” fine dining establishments. The Peter Herdic House however, tries to make up for this deficiency, and succeeds on every level. A great chef who uses the “farm to table” philosophy to his advantage, a very good bar and an excellent wine list. Pricey by local standards, but well worth it!”
