Wednesday Blue Plate
A warm, homestyle recipe from Hungary for this week’s Blue Plate: Chicken Paprikash, made with drumsticks from Landis Farm and smoked paprika, served over Debbie’s handmade organic fettuccine and finished with roasted sweet peppers. It’s $15 at the House, folks, and $17 to go (but know that our number of to-go orders is usually very limited)… We’ll hope to see you out tonight!

It’s Christmas Champagne season… Herdic Lunches Begin Again on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from December 1-December 23
This year we’ll once again be offering lunch Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from December 1-December 23. Stop into our little oasis of Victoriana to bask in the glow of our holiday glamour and gorgeous mantelpieces (thank you, Diane Franklin). Enjoy a classic cocktail and warm your bones beside the fire in our newly-appointed Green Room or our comfortably appointed lounge.
Be forewarned: we’re booked to the rafters for our Victorian Tea on Saturday afternoon, and not accepting walk-ins, but we should have plenty of tables on Friday and Saturday evenings, when we’ll be featuring some classic Victorian holiday fare and cocktails.
Come out and kick your Christmas season off right, with a little wassail, maybe some rack of lamb, and the company of our merry band of pranksters, as we leap into that “most wonderful time of the year…”
The Weird Holiday Herdic Tradition We Never Expected: Christmas Pudding | Friday, December 15
It’s the weird holiday Herdic tradition that we never expected to have: once a year, we unveil a well-aged Christmas pudding, containing every British-type ingredient known to man, light the pastry on fire and parade it around the dining room, all while singing Christmas carols.
We owe it all to Liz’s brother Cutter, who, several years ago, extolled the virtues of a homemade Christmas pudding—and Liz’s competitive spirit kicked in. Now it’s a thing, and you’ll have to come taste for yourself whether it’s really such a delightful treat: after the parade, we’ll be handing out samples of pudding with hard sauce until we run out…or folks decide they’ve had enough Christmas pudding for one season…
New Year’s Eve – We’re Open! | Sunday, December 31
It will surprise no one that, no matter the day of the week, New Year’s Eve is a sacrosanct tradition around our House, and we’re always open! Join us for dinner on this most festive night of the year, with reservations available starting at 5:00….
