A warm(ish?) welcome to 2026, this week at the Herdic House

This Week at the Herdic House

Well, now that we we at the Herd got swept up in the holidays (see Linden, above, who really took Hannah’s murder mystery birthday to heart), we missed the opportunity to wish readers of our prolix and slightly scattered email a happy Hanukah, a happy Solstice, a happy Kwanzaa, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year—but we hope everyone out there in Wilpo, whether they’re reading or not, had a terrific finish to 2025. And we hope that so far, 2 days into the new year, 2026 is treating you as well as can be expected. A little snow and ice, sure, but also a little R&R, right?

Speaking of rest and relaxation, the main purpose of this email is to remind everyone that it’s time for our Winter’s Nap at the Herdic House: an annual three-week hiatus that allows us to sneak off to warmer climes, catch up on news, Stranger Things, and other important items we may have missed in the rush of the holiday season, and maybe get some deep cleaning and/or exciting work done around our House. Liz and family are en route to Mexico, Hannah and Dante are headed for (hopefully) sunny Florida, and the rest of the crew is up to…well, you’ll have to ask them when we all see each other again!

But we’ll be back in business beginning January 21, 2026, excited to catch up on gossip, toss back a few drinks, and maybe even sling some delicious dinners. Drop us a line if you’d like to make a reservation for the end of January…or any other date in 2026. And until then, hope for snow, stick to your resolutions and dream of spring. Happy new year, everyone!
