This Week at the Herdic House

You’ve likely gotten the message by now—this is the week for love. But not this evening! While the rest of this week at the Herdic will be given over to lovers of all stripes, tonight is a simple Wednesday night like many others, with a Blue Plate that we all find especially delicious—one that’s an excellent antidote to today’s warmer but drippy weather, full of grey snow melt and the delirious chirping of birds marking a change in the weather. And that Blue Plate is…Korean tenderloin tip bulgogi, seared and served over simple rice with barbecued cauliflower, sesame roasted sweet peppers and quickled cukes. The Blue Plate, as always, is $18 at our House and $20 to go. Not to mention, our soup tonight will be a slightly spicy cream of tomato soup with gorgonzola croutons, and we’ll have a surprise dessert feature to get everyone into that romantic mood. We’ll hope to see you out tonight!

And yes, it’s no exaggeration to say that we’ll be celebrating love for the rest of this week at the Herdic—though, of course, you might say that we celebrate love every week at our House. Often we focus more on our love for these delightful rolling hills we call home, for the delicious fruits and vegetables that grow here, for the farmers and friends and customers that make our lives so rich.

But this week is for romance, ladies and gents, in whatever form it takes in your heart—be it your mother, your father, your sister, your brother, your friends, your lovers, your spouse, anyone who floats your boat, don’t forget to tell them how important they are to you. Because it’s necessary to pause every now and then and acknowledge how paltry our lives would be without love, and how fortunate we are that a handful of people around us lift us up, above everyone else in the world, to be worthy of affection. Spread the love this week (and every week!), and spread it at the Herdic, if you so choose—we’ll be serving our aphrodisiac Valentine’s features Thursday, Friday and Saturday. But if you haven’t got a reservation already, please know that we only have tables available on Thursday evening and after 8:30 pm on Friday, and even those are going fast. Here’s our menu of loverly features…
